Shun wicked propaganda, YSRCP tells TDP

Hyderabad, May 26 : Terming as “wicked and crooked” the media blitz of TDP that many more elected representatives are looking towards it, YSR Congress said such false notions should be dispelled and Chandrababu Naidu has to concentrate on his poll promises and development of the new state and has affirmed that there would be no defections.

“There could be a bad egg in the basket and TDP blowing it out of proportion only shows that it is afraid of facing the reality and is not in a position to take up the poll promises and as a cover-up bid is trying to engineer defections to divert the attention of the people, but we, as a responsible opposition, will fight for the cause of the people and will act as a sentinel to ensure that Chandrababu Naidu takes up the loan waiver to farmers, DWACRA and other promises, failing which we will mobilize public opinion against the government,” Party MLA G Srikanth Reddy and MP P Mithun Reddy told reporters here on Monday.

Objecting to the Party MP from Nandyal shifting sides, they said: “there is no truth in his argument of shifting sides for the sake of development of his constituency but it is only to further his business interests. There may be some minor hiccups but no one will leave the Party as we are elected on YSRCP party symbol and with the faith people have reposed in the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Taking a dig at Nandyal MP, SPY Reddy, Srikanth Reddy said, “If he is that interested in his constituency and the water share which can only be achieved if he is with the ruling party, he should have contested as an independent and leaned towards the majority party. His argument has no takers and this is raw opportunism. Encouraging defections and giving huge publicity to such events, real or perceived, is only the mind games TDP is playing and people who are elected on YSRCP symbol will stick to the party and strengthen the hands of our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“We will play the role of a viable opposition party and force the ruling party to take up development works and at the same time ensure that Chandrababu Naidu will fulfill all his poll promises. At a time when farmers, students, employees and other sections are in a quandary about their future in wake of the creation of a new state and question of capital city lying in a state of stalemate, TDP should give them hope and instill confidence at this hour of crisis but Chandrababu Naidu on the other hand seems to be interested in orchestrating defections which shows that his priorities lies elsewhere.

With over 44 % vote share we are the voice of the people and trying to throttle it by nefarious means will only spell doom to TDP, they said adding that Naidu who was speaking of wisdom while he was in the opposition has suddenly turned around and wants to fox the polity by trying to lure elected representatives from other parties to weaken the opposition block. His plans will not succeed as all those who were elected on YSRCP ticket will be loyal to the Party and will expose the misdeeds of TDP in the next five years while taking up people’s issues, they said.

TDP should think in terms of inclusive growth and we will be part of the development process but it should shun from such unscrupulous practices. With a couple of leaders going out, it does not affect our party in any way and we will be in the forefront to fight on people’s issues.

Rajampeta MP, Mithun Reddy said that there is no truth in the news appearing in a section of press that some leaders from Chittoor district will cross over. We are firmly with YSRCP and will work under the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said.  INN
