Reject Cong. TDP, says Jagan

Tirupati, March 1 : In a vitriolic attack on Congress, BJP and TDP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has blamed the three parties for dividing the State undemocratically and said only YSR Congress has the moral right to seek votes on a positive note as it was the voice of the people.

We need to usher in value based politics and breathe ethics into the political system which has decayed badly of late and YSRCP seeks a decisive mandate to roll in the golden era of a welfare State, he said and called upon the people to reject Congress and TDP that have been playing divisive politics.

“Congress has ganged up with BJP at the Centre and with TDP in the State and have split the State into two giving scant respect to the sentiments of the people and as they have nothing to speak about their achievements they are seeking votes on a negative campaign mode.

The wisdom of the people should prevail in the elections, schedule of which will be announced in less than a week and support YSRCP which has been with the people all the time and has consistently opposed the state division,” he said while launching the poll campaign in the name of YSR Jana Bheri here on Sunday.

Despite a sore throat, he said: “The Congress is not seeking votes in return to the sops it has given to farmers, students and women groups, it is not asking to vote for them as they have reduced the power tariff and RTC bus fares but it is going to people for being successful in whipping regional passions and pitting Telugu people against each other by dividing the state.

Sonia and Sushma Swaraj (Mata, Mausi) have been seeking votes for dividing the state while TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu is also staking claim for helping them in the division process by giving a letter to split the state and his MPs had cast the first vote to carve the new state.

Chandrababu Naidu has been seeking votes not on the merits of his nine year rule and the sops he has given to various sections of the people but has been asking for his share for helping Congress and BJP in the division process.

On the other hand YSR Congress has been of the view that the state would develop fast if it is united. The youth would get jobs if capital city, airports and sea ports are in one state, farmers and students would benefit from Kuppam to Srikakulam.  We fought till the last post but Congress has ganged up with the principal opposition BJP at the Centre and TDP in the State to divide the state.

In the backdrop of this irrational division where farmers would be unable to draw required water and students will be deprived of jobs, we are going to elections. Congress and TDP have nothing to speak of their achievements and seek votes.

YSR Congress is with the people and together we shall bring in the golden era where all sections would be happy and justice would be done to all regions.

It is only YSRCP that understands the sentiments of the people and it is the voice of the people. The intimacy should reflect in the mandate to keep the State prosperous, he said in a brief speech which lasted for ten minutes.

Recalling the various programmes he began from this city, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said, Odarpu Yatra is in the last phases in Chittoor district. Samaikya Sankaravam and Poru Bata were also also launched from here. There was a huge gathering and the rally was well attended. (INN)

Balaraju condemns ex-colleagues for criticising Congress

Hyderabad, March 1 : Former minister P Balaraju condemned his former colleagues for criticising the Congress after joining the other parties.
Referring to TG Venkatesh, Erasu Pratap and Ganta Srinivas Rao who recently joined the TDP, he said that many leaders enjoyed the power for the last one decade. However, when the Congress party slipped into crisis due to bifurcation issue, they switched loyalties and have started targeting the same party which gave them recognition. He questioned as to why those leaders did not bring development in their areas although they enjoyed the cabinet berths. He said such leaders were targeting the Congress party only to cover up their failures and mistakes.
Balaraju expressed regret that former Congress leaders, who praised Sonia Gandhi throughout their lives, are now criticising the AICC President, for small political gains.
He said that the Central Government has already announced special packages for the Seemandhra and the Congress party would ensure their proper, effective and speedy implementation. (INN)

However, he said that regaining the confidence of people of Seemandhra would be a major challenge for the party. He promised that the Congress party would make Seemandhra, the best State in the country. He advised the Congress leaders and workers to work hard to strengthen the party in both Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions.
Botsa also informed that a meeting of DCC Presidents, City Presidents and other office bearers of all 13 districts of Seemandhra has been convened on March 5th at Gandhi Bhavan wherein the future strategy would be discussed.
When asked about the possibility of TRS party's merger with the Congress, Botsa said that issue was directly being handled by the Congress High Command and the State leadership was not involved in it. However, he advised the Congress leaders to restrain from making any statements on merger and also commenting on TRS leaders including K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Without naming former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Botsa said that launching new political parties have become a fashion. He said such parties are usually used to blackmail the Central and State Governments. Such parties also get buyers like a private limited company. Dr JP to address public meeting at Tirupati on March 3

Hyderabad, March 1 : Lok Satta Party national President Dr Jayaprakash Narayan will be addressing a public meeting at Tirupati on March 3 to enlighten people on the party’s role in safeguarding the interests of all regions in the State in wake of the Delhi decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Y. D. Rama Rao, Co-convener of the Lok Satta Party in Andhra Pradesh, said in a media statement today that Dr. JP would take part in an anti-corruption pledge at Kanipakam temple on the morning of March 3. At 4-00 p.m., he will take part in a two-wheeler rally from Padmavati Guesthouse to Nehru Stadium via Gandhi Road and Bhavani Circle and address a public meeting at 5 PM.

Rama Rao lambasted Union Minister Jairam Ramesh for claiming the suggestions made by Dr. JP for ensuring justice to the three regions of the State as Congress Party’s own.

He recalled that it was Dr. JP who in his January 18 Assembly speech proposed that special category status be provided to Rayalaseema and tax incentives offered to promote industrialization in Seemandhra. The BJP by and large owned up Dr. JP’s suggestions and pursued them whereas the Congress, which claims to be their author, did not incorporate them in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill.

The need of the hour is visionary leadership which ensures a bright future for people, especially youth, in the two States.

Rama Rao said Government of India and Congress Party did not bother to douse the flames of hatred among Telugu speaking people triggered by the Delhi decision to carve out Telangana. Congress, who did not heed Lok Satta’s repeated calls for arriving at a comprehensive and amicable solution through a dialogue between people’s representatives and other stakeholders, now preaches that joint action committees in the two States should work together. The people and their elected representatives in residuary Andhra Pradesh are competent enough to choose their capital without any fiat from Delhi or intervention of people like Central Ministers. (INN)
