Hyderabad, Sept 9: Telangana Political Joint Action Committee
Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Sunday appealed to government not to look the
Telangana statehood issue as law and order problem.
Flagging
off the preparatory march at Manikeswara Nagar in the run up to Telangana March
scheduled to be held on September 30, Kodandaram said that the JAC was ready to
face any obstacles to achieve the statehood for the region. Reiterating that
the Telangana March would be organised in a large scale in the region, he said
“This is only beginning and not the end.”
The JAC
Chairman said that the Centre has to announce its decision in a favourable
manner without resorting to further delaying tactics in the name of consultations
with parties and stakeholders. If the government fails to announce a favourable
decision on the bifurcation, he warned that the consequences would be serious
and the JAC would not be responsible for the same.
Meanwhile,
the traffic at RTC Cross Roads came to standstill with the Preparatory March
flagged off at Manikeswara Nagar and the police had a tough time to manage it.
