Hyderabad, Sept 24: YSRCP MLA Srikanth Reddy on
Monday demanded that the State Government immediately revoke the hike in RTC
fares imposed on commuters following increase in diesel prices.
Talking to media persons in Assembly premises, Srikanth Reddy said that the government has already break the backbone of common man by affecting many hikes and now the increase in RTC fares would put additional burden making the life of common man miserable. Before people start revolting against the government, he asked it to reduce all hikes including additional surcharge on power and hike in diesel prices immediately.
Srikanth
Reddy also ridiculed RTC Managing Director A K Khan's statement that the corporation
would become profitable soon. He asked as to how the RTC could become a
profitable organisation by taking such anti-people measures. He also slammed
the RTC for fleecing the commuters by collecting additional fares during peak
festival seasons. He asked the RTC to scrap anti-people measures and adopt
people-friendly steps.
He
warned that YSRCP would intensify its agitation if the government fails to
revoke such anti-people decisions.
