Chief Whip apologises for debate-less assembly session

Hyderabad, September 22 INN: Government chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy on Saturday apologised to the people on behalf of  State Government for its inability to take up a discussion on public issues in the five days of monsoon session of Assembly.

Talking to reporters at Assembly media point, Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy alleged that the government has totally failed to take up discussion on public issues mainly due to opposition parties pressing for discussion on other issues and diverting the attention of House. Accusing the Opposition of parties of misusing the session and wasting crores of public money, he demanded that they apologise to the people of the State.

Stating that people of State were feeling ashamed over the behavior of their elected representatives, he alleged that opposition parties have completely forgotten the welfare of people completely. He also slammed TRS members for stalling the House pressing for a resolution on Telangana state formation. “There is no meaning to press for resolution on Telangana issue when the bifurcation of State was in the jurisdiction of the Centre”, he said.

Venkata Ramana Reddy said that the Speaker did not suspended TRS MLAs from the House probably for the reason that it might have hurt the feelings of Telangana people.
