Hyderabad, August 16 : With a view to ensure proper cleanliness in railway premises, the South Central Railway, during July 2013, detected/penalized 7,200 people for littering, spitting etc., on railway premises.
They include 1,393 persons in Secunderabad Division, 573 persons in Hyderabad Division, 2,393 persons in Vijayawada Division, 716 persons in Nanded Division and 1306 persons in Guntakal Division and 836 persons in Guntur Division. Samaikhyandhra protest: Thota Vani shifted to hospital
Kakinada, August 16 : Thota Vani, wife of Stamps and Registration Minister Thota Narasimhan, who was on fast-unto-death in protest against State's bifurcation for the last six days was forcibly shifted to a hospital in the early hours of Friday.

Striking employees unions divided over meeting Antony Committee
Hyderabad, August 14 : The unions representing nearly four lakh employees of Seemandhra region are divided over making representation to the high-powered Antony Committee to seek redressal of their grievances over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The differences became clear when the striking unions were called for talks by the Group of Ministers led by Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha at the State Secretariat on Wednesday. APNGOs to continue strike as talks fail
Hyderabad, August 14 : The indefinite strike launched by nearly four lakh employees affiliated with the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Association demanding that the Centre keep State united would continue following failure of talks between the striking employees and State Government.
Talking to reporters later, APNGOs President P Ashok Babu said that the strike would continue although the employees have agreed to participate in Independence Day celebrations on Thursday.
