Hyderabad, October 11 : Over 3,000 Haj pilgrims from the State have reached Jeddah for the Haj – 2012.
According to the State Haj Committee, as many as nine batches consisting of 2707 Haj pilgrims from Hyderabad have reached the sacred destination of Makkah-al-Mukarrama for Haj 2012 and they are now busy in special prayers after performing Umrah. Two more batches consisting of 600 Haj pilgrims left the Haj House on Thursday and with them the number of Hajis who left for Jeddah rose to 3007.
The first flight of pilgrims on Thursday took off from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad at 10:35 am, while the other flight is scheduled to take off from the Airport at 1.35 am. SHC Chairman Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed flagged off the buses at the Haj House amid chanting of Talbiah, the special prayer for the Haj.
