JAC plans massive protests during PM's visit on Oct 16

Hyderabad, October 4 : The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee is planning to organise massive protests on October 16 during the visit of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to attend the global biodiversity conference in the city.

The decision was reportedly taken during an informal meeting attended by TPJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram, CPI State Secretary K Narayana and other leaders. Instead of centralised protest, the JAC leaders are planning sporadic protests in different forms across the city on the occasion of Prime Minister’s visit to the city on October 16.

Earlier in the day, Kodandaram and other JAC leaders visited BJP State office to thank the BJP leaders for their support to the Telangana March. Later, talking to reporters Kodandaram described the Telangana March a grand success. He also welcomed the statement of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde who described the March as peaceful. However, Kondandaram alleged that the police, who caused several obstructions for the March, was now registering false cases against the Telangana activists.

Kodandaram also claimed that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao held fruitful talks with the leaders in New Delhi on the Telangana issue.
