GHMC Commissioner reviews dengue cases


Hyderabad, October 3 : GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu on Wednesday inspected Narmada Hospital at Gandhinagar to enquire into the prevalence of dengue and other viral fevers.

 The GHMC Commissioner was informed by the officials that four cases of Dengue were admitted in the hospital. Of them, two admitted with suspected Dengue infection were found to be reactive for NS1 antigen and the remaining two were diagnosed as viral fevers. All four cases are recovering and instructions have been issued to take up house hold level activities to control mosquito menace.

Krishna Babu has instructed the officials to liaison with the institute of Preventive Medicine at Narayanaguda and see that Dengue confirmation blood tests are done for the samples sent from all types of hospitals. Instruction were also issued to GHMC’s Chief Entomologist to focus in the affected localities and carryout intensive, anti-larval operations, Indoor Residual Spray and Fogging regularly.
