Hyderabad, September 20 INN: Government Whip Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy appealed to Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram to postpone the 'Telangana March' scheduled to be held on September 30 as Ganesh immersion and International Conference on Biodiversity falls on September 29 and October 1 respectively.
Talking to reporters at Assembly media point, he feared that the Telangana March might witness incidents of violence on the lines of Million March held in 2011 and cause law and order problem in the State capital. If the TPJAC did not postpone the Telangana March, he said that Prof Kondandaram should be held responsible for the consequences and the police should take serious action against him as per the law.
Alleging that Kodandaram was not sincere towards the Telangana cause, Jayaprakash Reddy said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was totally committed to the statehood issue. He said that Kiran Kumar Reddy did not moved the resolution on Telangana issue in the Assembly as it has no requisite strength to be passed. He criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samithi for insisting on resolution on Telangana issue and stalling the House. He said it was due to TRS that the Legislative Assembly could not discuss any public issue and the Speaker Nadendla Manohar was forced to adjourn the House for three consecutive days. He accused the TRS of insisting on Telangana resolution in order to to get mileage on it.
At least now, all parties should cooperate with the Speaker and help him run the House in order, he appealed.
