Hyderabad, September 20 INN: Congress MLA M Rajesh Kumar on Thursday apologised to the people of Chintalapudi constituency in West Godavari district for his failure to represent their problems in the Legislative Assembly.
Talking to reporters at the Assembly media point, Rajesh Kumar said that the people of Chitalapudi elected him with a hope that he would represent their problems in the House. However, he said that the opposition parties took the Legislative Assembly to ransom and were not allowing the MLAs to speak about the problems being faced by people in their respective constituencies. Appealing the members of all opposition parties to review the problems in their own constituencies, he said that the MLAs should allow the House to function instead of stalling its proceedings.
Congress MLA Jogi Ramesh, who represents Pedana constituency in Krishna district, also slammed the opposition parties for stalling the House. He said although all political parties gave assurance during the Business Advisory Committee's meeting that they would allow discussions on public issue, they did not honour their words. Stating that the opposition parties have a right to protest, he said it was wrong on the part of opposition parties to stall the proceedings by encroaching upon the rights of other MLAs.
Jogi Ramesh said that the people were observing the behaviour of opposition parties and they would teach a fitting lesson to them during the next elections.
