Hyderabad, September 28 INN: The Ministers from Telangana region on Friday tried in vain to convince Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to postpone the Telangana March to some other date, instead of September 30, in the wake of Ganesh immersion and global biodiversity conference.
Following the instructions of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Ministers held a meeting with the representatives of Joint Action Committee at the State Secretariat. However, the TPJAC refused to oblige the Chief Minister and informed the Ministers that it would go ahead with March as per schedule, irrespective of whether or not government gives permission for the same.
Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy appealed to the JAC to defer the agitation. But the JAC members stated that they informed the government about the Telangana March long ago. They assured that March would be conducted peacefully on Tank Bund if the government gives permission for the same.
The meeting was attended by Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy, Housing Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, BC Welfare Minister Basavaraj Saraiah participated on behalf of the government. On behalf of JAC, Chairman Prof M Kodandaram, Chuukka Ramaiah and Prof Hara Gopal, TRS Floor Leader Etala Rajender and BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya were present.
Meanwhile, according to sources, the government was considering giving permission to the TJAC to organize the March from 3.30 pm to 7 pm at Necklace road only.
