Hyderabad, September 22 INN: Health and Family Welfare Minister DL Ravindra Reddy on Saturday claimed that the infant mortality rate in the State was on a decline.
Replying to replying raised by MLA Peedika Rajanna Dora during Question Hour in the State Legislative Assembly, the minister said that the Sisu Sanjeevini Scheme, which was launched to reduce the infant mortality rate, was working well. Furnishing the statistics, he said while the infant mortality rate in 2008 was 52, it came down to 49 in 2009 and to 46 in 2010.
