Home Minister assures probe into suspended ASP's allegations


Hyderabad, Sept 8: Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy on Saturday assured the delegation of Telangana Advocates Joint Action committee that the department would conduct impartial probe against Rampachodavaram Assistant Superintendent of Police Naveen Kumar, who levelled allegations of ganja smuggling against East Godavari Superintendent of Police Trivikram Verma.

The Home Minister gave this assurance when a delegation of Telangana Advocates JAC met her demanding cancellation of suspension orders on Naveen Kumar. She said that the government has received a preliminary report over the allegations of Naveen Kumar against Trivikram Verma and would take action at an appropriate time.

Meanwhile, the Advocates JAC members alleged that the officials have suspended Naveen Kumar as he was hailing from Telangana region and demanded an impartial inquiry into the issue. They also informed the Home Minister that Naveen Kumar has been facing threat to his life.
