Hyderabad, September 25 INN: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday said that the government would provide six lakh jobs by having tie-ups with the industry during the next year through Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu.
Talking to media persons at Gannavaram while participating in the first day of Indiramma Baata porgramme in Krishna district, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the government has set a target of providing employment to 3.6 lakh unemployed through Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme this year. He said that the government has already provided employment to 2 lakh aspirants under the scheme.
Stating that about 18.5 lakh candidates have registered under the RYK Scheme to hone their skills, he said that the government has recruited 1.2 lakh candidates in various departments for the first time without giving room for corruption. He said that the government would issue a notification for filling 35,000 teacher posts soon.
Stating that the power crisis cropped up mainly due to shortage of inflows of water in the dams, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the government would tide over the crisis soon. He also assured the Krishna Delta farmers that the government would take all steps to protect crops from withering away due to shortage of water. He said that the government has allocated Rs 2500 crores for farm mechanization on 50 percent subsidy.
Besides this, the Chief Minister said that the government has allocated Rs 52,000 crores to farm sector including Rs 42,000 crores as loans with zero percent interest. He said Rs 2,000 crores lent to licensed cultivators under the zero percent interest. He said that the government was contemplating to get about one lakh crore from dairy, fisheries and horticulture sectors in next 3-4 years to improve living standards of rural people. He also said that the government started milk mission with a cost of Rs 6,000 crores.
Kiran Kumar Reddy informed that he has appealed to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan singh to synchronise NREGS to farm sector. Admitting the delay in announcing sand policy due to court directions, he appealed to building and construction contractors to treat sand as one of the essential commodity for construction industry. He assured the students that the government would take all steps to reimburse the tuition fee and scholarships.
