Hyderabad, September 11 INN: The Assembly Committee on Minorities Welfare on Tuesday rebuked the State Wakf Board for not presenting the files related to different Wakf properties in the State.
Talking to reporters after the Committee's meeting in the State Legislative Assembly premises, Committee Chairman Mastan Vali said that the Wakf Board officials have been warned of serious action if they continue to show negligent attitude towards the protection of Wakf properties. He said that Board officials did not present the relevant files before the committee in a proper manner.
Mastan Vali also informed that the Principal Secretary (Minorities Welfare Department) has sought six months time to file a report on the Wakf property at Begumpet where the Task Force office was located earlier. He said after the Task Force vacated the building, a woman Fatima Begum has filed a petition in the court claiming ownership. He said the committee would examine the matter after receiving the report.
Further, the committee would also review the status of Wakf properties belonging to Dargah Hazrath Baba Sharfuddin after the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly.
