Cyberabad Police reassures safety for NE, Assam people


Hyderabad, August 21: The Cyberabad Police has decided to to form sector-wise Confidence Building Committees to stop exodus of Assam and North East people.


The decision was taken in a meeting held at Cyberabad Police Commissionerate here on Tuesday. Commissioner Ch D Tirumala Rao, who chaired the meeting, assured that the safety and security of Assamees and North East States people would be taken care. The meeting was also attended by Assam Principal Secretary Bhasker, DIG Assam State Vijay Kumar Ramisetty, Secretary NE Forum Rev Paothang Haokip, Assam Association President SK Modi, KIMS Vice Chairman Dr S.Sahariah and other senior officials.

According to the Commissioner, it has been to form Confidence Building Committees in IT sector, Security Agencies, Students, Hospitality, Construction workers, Nursing and Banks.  Committees will consist of local persons, local public representatives and prominent leaders from Hindu and Muslim community with the members of Assam Association.  It was  decided to make an appeal to persons who left to Assam to come back and pursue their jobs and studies without any fear.  

Publicity must be sustained from government side by narrating steps taken by the State Government.  Police helpline numbers also should be known to all the Assamee and North Eastern States People.  The committees must be in touch with Railway authorities.  Pickets, Patrolling are being continued in the areas where Assamees are residing in large number, the Commissioner said.
