Hyderabad, Aug 13: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday named Roads and Buildings Minister B Dharmana Prasad Rao as an accused in the disproportionate assets case of YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy.
Dharmana Prasad has been named as the fifth accused in the fourth charge sheet of the case in matters relating to alleged irregularities in the Vapic project. The 177-pages chargesheet submitted by the probing agency in the Special CBI Court had 284 relevant documents and 272 statements. The documents were brought in nine boxes in the CBI court located in Criminal Court Complex at Nampally.
In the charge sheet, the CBI has named Jaganmohan Reddy as the prime accused followed by financial advisor Vijaya Sai Reddy, industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana and Road and Building Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao. The list of accused includes several senior IAS officials including KV Brahmananda Reddy, Manmohan Singh and Sameul. The other accused are Nimmagadda Prakash, Vanpic Projects, Jagathi Publications, Bharathi Cements, Caramel Asia and Silicon Builders.
The accused have been charged under Sections 120 (B), 419, 420, 468, 471, 477 (A) of the IPC.
