VHR asks Naidu, KCR to apologise with farmers

Hyderabad, July 4 : Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao on Friday demanded Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao to apologise with the farmers for their failure to honour the promise on waiving off farm loans.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, VHR alleged that both Naidu and KCR have cheated the farmers by promising that their agricultural loans would be waived off. However, he said that their failure to fulfill the promise has put the farmers in a new problem. The banks are about to include farmers in the defaulters' list and they were not in a position to seek fresh loans for the Khariff season.

VHR also expressed concern over the statement of SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya over agricultural loans waiver promise. He demanded both Naidu and KCR to pressurise the Centre or seek Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention on the issue.

The Congress MP also asked the TRS Government to take steps to remove encroachments from the Wakf properties in the State.  INN
