Hyderabad, July 6 : Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday directed his party MPs to raise the issue of Polavaram Project in the upcoming session of Parliament.
According to sources, KCR asked the TRS MPs to strongly oppose the ordinance that facilitated the merger of seven mandals of Khammam district into Seemandhra. TRS Parliamentary Party leader K Keshava Rao suggested that the Telangana Government should serve a notice to the Centre on the issue. However, it was finally decided that the Polavaram issue would be raised in the Parliament by seeking support from the friendly parties.
The Chief Minister was also concerned with the move of the Central Government to delegate more powers to the Governor. KCR reportedly asked his party MPs to raise the issue in the Parliament against the proposed move. The TRS MPs have also been asked to meet Union Ministers separately with a list of demands for their departments concerned.
The TRS MPs would also demand Special Status for Telangana State with the Centre. INN
