Hyderabad, July 1 : Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority chairman Vijayan had a meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu here on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister has discussed on Agricultural Insurance with the IRDA Chairman. He emphasized on the improvement and implementation of the Crop Insurance Scheme. He also opined that there is a need to improve the system of crop insurance to benefit the small and medium farmers. He requested that Crop Insurance claims shall be released in timely fashion.
The Chief Minister also requested that proper assessment of crop conditions shall be done using satellite imagery and Information Technology to ensure accurate picture on crop yields is obtained.
The IRDA Chairman has promised to take up a pilot scheme using satellite imagery and IT in Andhra Pradesh for benefiting farmers in the state. INN
