Telangana should seek more railway projects: VHR

Hyderabad, June 27 : Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumanth Rao on Friday asked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to pressurise the Centre to sanction new railway projects for Telangana.

Speaking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office here, VHR said that the Telangana Government should make strong representations with the Centre for new railway projects and sufficient funds for the State for completion of pending projects. He said that the Railway Budget was on the final stages of preparation and therefore, the State Government should submit its proposals to the Centre.

However, VHR alleged that the Chief Minister appears more interested in encouraging defection in opposition parties. Referring to five Congress MLCs who recently joined the TRS, he said that the political defections were not in the interest of Telangana.

The Congress MP said that all leaders, irrespective of their political affiliation, should focus on the development of the new State. He said while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandhrababu Naidu was utilising his clout to get more sops for his State, KCR was still busy in local politics. He demanded that an all-party MPs delegation should be sent to the Centre seeking more railway projects for Telangana.   INN
