Hyderabad, June 26 : TDP floor leader in GHMC Singireddy Srinivas Reddy on Thursday requested Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to issue directions for execution of repairs to the damage roads and laying of new roads in the GHMC limits.
In a representation made to the Chief Minister, Sinigreddy said that he has made several representations to the GHMC Commissioner and launched several agitations seeking immediate repair of damaged roads and laying of new roads during the summer expeditiously so as to complete them prior to the arrival of monsoon. But unfortunately, he said that the GHMC could not commence the work citing elections code and now the passing away of summer season.
"Fortunately, the monsoon is yet to arrive and the delay should be used an opportunity to execute the pending works. Holding meetings with the officials concerned without ground the works will not solve the problem, but it will aggravate the problems during the ensuing rainy season which is fast impending," he said adding that the works could be taken up by calling short tenders.
Singireddy threatened that the TDP Corporators and activists would stage dharna in front of all the Zonal offices of GHMC in the first phase and a protest would be organised before the Secretariat in the second phase if the requisition is not considered. INN
