Hyderabad, June 27 : City Police Commissioner P Mahender Reddy has imposed certain prohibitory orders around the High Court building premises.
The Commissioner has imposed a ban on public meetings; assembly of five or more persons; carrying of fire-arms, banners, placards, lathis, spears, swords, sticks, bricksbats, etc.; shouting of slogans; making of speeches etc.; processions and demonstrations and picketing or dharnas in any public place within the area specified in the schedule and sketch map without a written permission.
Mahender Reddy said that the areas where prohibitory orders are being imposed are busy places due to functioning of the High Court, causing movements of litigants and Advocates to and from the premises of High Court. The areas are City College Junction to Nayapul Road, Madina Circle to City College Road and its three by-lanes leading to Ghansi Bazar and other three by-lanes lanes leading to Patel Market/Ricobgunj, Nayapul – Madina Circle, Pathargatti – Madina Circle, Muslim Jung Bridge Circle, Puranapul – PTO – City College X- Road and Moosa Bowli – Mehandi – City College X- Road – High Court Road.
The Commissioner said that that unrestricted holding of public meetings, processions/ demonstrations, etc. in the area is likely to cause obstruction, annoyance or injury to any person lawfully employed, or danger to human life, health or safety or disturbance of the public tranquility or a riot or an affray and inconvenience in the smooth functioning of the High Court and disturbance to the litigants and Advocates. Therefore, it has been decided to impose prohibitory orders in the area. However, he said religious functions/ rallies/ public meeting, etc., in the above specified areas can be held with prior written permission from the South Zone DCP.
The prohibitory orders will remain in force from 6 AM on June 28 (Saturday) for a period of two months i.e. upto 6 AM on August 26, unless withdrawn earlier. INN
