Hyderabad, June 26 : Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister S Raghava Rao has informed that the road connectivity in the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh would be improved on war footing.
Speaking to media persons at the State Secretariat here on Thursday, Raghava Rao said that all Gram Panchayats of Andhra Pradesh would be connected with the District Headquarters by improving the existing roads and laying of new roads, wherever required. He said better road connectivity would play a crucial role in the development of Andhra Pradesh.
The minister also informed that steps were being taken to minimise losses being suffered by the State-run Road Transport Corporation. He said that the RTC was incurring losses of Rs 2.70 crore on daily basis. However, he said that losses could be minimised by improving the services. He said there is a proposal to replace the old buses with the new ones which would ensure better service and convenience to the passengers while reducing pollution. Further, he said RTC would soon introduce services on new routes. INN
