Niranjan wants old Gandhi Bhavan for T-Congress

Hyderabad, Feb 28 : Telangana Congress Monitoring Group organiser G Niranjan on Friday requested AICC President G Niranjan to allot existing Congress Party office situated  in the old building of Gandhi Bhavan to Telangana Congress Committee as it was constructed prior to the formation of Andhra Pradesh and with the funds raised by the then Hyderabad State Congress leaders.

"The foundation stone of this building was laid by Vallab Bhai Patel, the then Union Home Minister on 7th October 1950 and inaugurated by Dr.Rajendra Prasad, the then President of India on 8th July 1956," Niranjan said in a letter written to Sonia Gandhi. He said that the recently Constructed new building with in the Gandhi Bhavan premises may be spared for temporary functioning of the Andhra Congress Committee.

As the Telangana Congress Committee has to function permanently from this place it should not be shifted to new building from existing place. More over it is not proper to have the Andhra Congress Party head quarters two hundred kilometers away from the Congress workers.

Hyderabad is decided as Capital for both the States for a specific period considering time required for the development of new capital. The functioning of the Party from two hundred kilometer distance for such a long period will cause inconvenience to cadre and for its effective functioning. (INN)
