Hyderabad, Feb 28 : The International Society for Hemodialysis announced the 3rd Hemodialysis University (HDU) here on Friday.
The two day conference starts on March 1 in Hyderabad at the Marriott Convention Centre here. The previous ISHD HDUTMs were held in Chicago, USA (2012) and Shanghai, China (2013). This prestigious and premier Conference aims at dialysis practitioners from the Indian subcontinent, South East Asia, SAARC Countries, Middle East, Africa and the CIS.
The one of a kind conference will focus on clinically important problems in dialysis, specifically Vascular Access (with live workshops), Water Treatment, Home Hemodialysis, Optimal Control of Fluid, sodium Balance and Mitigation of Cardiovascular Risk. It aims to provide the very latest in Hemodialysis technology to the busy practicing Nephrologists and professionals by bringing together the very best of the International Faculty.
Dr K S Nayak, Program Director of the 3rd HDU and Chief Nephrologist at Deccan Hospital Hyderabad said, "The number of patients in India on Hemodialysis is growing exponentially and so are the number of Hemodialysis centres. However, there are certain bottlenecks which we need to address so that we can make our patients live longer with a superior quality of life. The faculty of this conference are World leaders in their specific areas of Hemodialysis and will impart their expertise to their colleagues in this part of the World and elevate the quality of Hemodialysis and also introduce newer technologies in treatment care."
