Hyderabad, October 3 : The departure of nearly 8,000 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh and adjacent districts of Karnataka for Haj-2012 will begin from October 6.
According to the State Haj Committee, the arrangements for the departure of Haj pilgrims from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport are complete both at the Haj Camp at Haj House at Nampally and the GMR Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamsabad. The first flight will depart from RGI Airport at October 6 at 9.20 pm. The Haj pilgrims bound for the first flight have been asked to report at the Haj Camp on Thursday.
According to Indo-Saudi Services (Travels) Branch Manager M Iftekhar Ahmed, as many as 26 Chartered flights of the Saudi Arabian Airlines will take off from the Haj Terminal Hyderabad from October 6 to 19. He said 7,750 pilgrims would be depart to Jeddah in 26 flights. On October 17 and 18, three flights would be operated for the pilgrims. He said the pilgrims would be allowed to carry two baggages of 45 kilograms and hand-baggage of 10 kgs.
Meanwhile, the passports with due Visa Endorsement from KSA Consulate in Mumbai have been received by the Haj Committee on Wednesday afternoon. The Haj Committee of India officials from Mumbai have also reached Hyderabad to monitor the departure for the pilgrims.
Minorities Welfare Department Secretary Dana Kishore on Wednesday inspected the Haj Camp and reviewed the arrangements. He was accompanied with SHC Chairman Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed, Executive Officer Abdul Hameed and other members and officials of the Haj Committee. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and appreciated the efforts of the Haj Committee for providing facilities to the pilgrims.
Later, the Haj Committee in its meeting pointed out that the lapses should be rectified before the commencement of the Haj Camp so that the pilgrims do not face any difficulty. The meeting chaired by Khaleeluddin Ahmed was attended by members Mahmood Hussain Engineer, Syed Raza Hussain Azad, Shaik Shareef, Rahmatullah Khan, Habeeb Ahmed, Mohammed Baig, Alhaj Mohammed Pasha and Malika Begum.
The Haj Committee has constituted various Sub-Committees to monitor the day to day affairs of the Haj Camp with regard to the facilities to the pilgrims.
