Hyderabad, September 15 INN: Former Congress minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Saturday said that he would move a privilege motion against Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma in the upcoming monsoon session of Assembly for his failure to protect MLAs rights.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Dr Shankar Rao alleged that the Commissioner was not responding on the phone over providing security to him despite frequent appeals. Stating that he has appealed to restore his old security, he expressed serious concern over elected members failing to get proper security cover from the police.
Dr Shankar Rao also said that Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar was yet to give reply on a privilege motion moved against the Chief Secretary over the violation of protocol in not inviting him to foundation stone laying programme of Metro Rail in the city. He hoped that the Speaker would respond on this issue in this session and initiate action on the Chief Secretary.
