Hyderabad, September 27 INN: Tension prevailed at the Osmania University when the police obstructed the rally taken out by Telangana Students Joint Action Committee at the NCC Gate.
Hundreds of students took out a rally from the Arts College building seeking police permission and supporting the Telangana March on September 30. However, the police obstructed the rally at the NCC Gate. The students had a heated argument with the police and some of them even pelted stones on them.
With the situation going out of control, the police fired tear gas shells to disperse the agitating students. Additional police forces have been deployed in and outside the University campus to maintain peace.
