No plans to rehabilitate people in coastal areas: Raghuveera Reddy


Hyderabad, September 20 INN: Revenue Minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy on Thursday stated that there was no proposal with the State Government to provide rehabilitation to the people of coastal areas. However, he said two Saline Embankments in Krishna districts have been proposed to be taken up under National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP).

 Replying to a question raised by MLA Malladi Vishnu during Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly, Raghuveera Reddy informed that restoration of Kona Saline Embankment to the original standards from Km 0.000 to Km. 18.600 in Divi Island of Machilipatnam mandal and Kruthivennu Saline Embankment to the original standards from Km 0.000 to Km 15.000 in Divi Island, Kruthivennu Mandal in Krishna district with an estimated cost of Rs 43.60 crore and Rs 42 crore respectively on receipt of detailed estimates from Irrigation and CAG Department as per the original detailed project report approved by the Government and World Bank.
