Hyderabad, September 16 INN: The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen on Sunday demanded that the State Legislative Assembly adopt a resolution seeking a ban on the anti-Islam film that triggered violent protests across the world.
Talking to reporters in the assembly premises, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said that the Legislative Assembly should pass a resolution during its monsoon session demanding ban on the US-made anti-Islam film. He said a similar resolution has already been passed by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
Welcoming the SC/ST Sub-Plan, Akbaruddin Owaisi demanded that the Assembly should also discuss a separate Sub-Plan for the Minorities to ensure that the funds meant for their welfare were not misused and spent properly. He also said that the House should pass a unanimous resolution condemned the hike in diesel prices and the restrictions on subsidised LPG.
The MIM leader also appealed to the political parties to participate in the debate during the monsoon session instead of stalling the proceedings and creating uproar. Requesting the Speaker to immediately suspend the legislators who create uproar, he asked the people to notice the behaviour of their representatives in the House and teach them a lesson during next elections. All parties and MLAs should ensure that healthy debates take place in the assembly and public money is not lost due to frequent adjournments, he said.
