Hyderabad, September 14 INN: The High Court on Friday adjourned the hearing on a case pertaining to police firing at Sompeta in Srikakulam distrit to four weeks while directing the State Government to submit the magisterial inquiry report on the incident.
The court issued these directions while dealing with a petition filed by one V V Krishana Rao of Samata Party and two others seeking a CBI probe into the police firing on agitators opposing the establishment of a power plant in the area. The Advocate General told the court that the magisterial inquiry report on the incident has been completed.
The government had ordered a magisterial inquiry by the Joint District Collector into the police firing, which claimed three lives during anti-power plant agitation on July 14, 2010.
