Haj flights to begin from Oct 6

Hyderabad, September 12 INN: Elaborate arrangements are being made for the departure of pilgrims for Haj 2012 from the Haj House at Nampally.



Nearly 8,500 pilgrims, including 7,350 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh will leave for Jeddah through 26 direct flights from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad between October 6 and October 19. All the pilgrims will first arrive at the Haj House two days prior to their scheduled flights and the legal formalities of immigration, customs, etc., will be done at the Haj Camp itself.

The pilgrims will return from Holy Madina from November 17 to November 30.

Talking to reporters after presiding the SHC's Coordination Committee meeting, Minorities Welfare Minister informed that all the government offices located in the Haj House building have been asked to evacuate during the Haj camp period. He said this time only attendant would be allowed per pilgrim. He also informed that the foundation stone for the new Haj House building near Shamshabad would be laid in the next 10 days.

The meeting was also attended by State Haj Committee chairman Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed, Wakf Board chairman Syed Ghulam Sarvar Afzal Biyabani, Central Haj Committee CEO Shakhir Hussain, City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma and senior officials of Central Excise, Immigration, GMR and other departments.
