Hyderabad, September 22 INN: Endowments Minister C Ramchandraiah on Saturday informed the State Legislative Assembly that there were as many 37,071 temples in different categories under the control of Endowments across the State.
Replying to a question raised by MLA A Rajender and others during the Question Hour, the minister said that the government has been following the norms prescribed in May 2002 through a GO for the appointment of Archakas. Further, he said that the Dharmika Parishad has not made any suggestion regarding the appointment of Archakas. He also informed that 102 Archakas were working in Hyderabad and 113 Archakas in Ranga Reddy district.
