Hyderabad, Sept 7: Communist Party of India state secretary K
Narayana on Friday sought explanation from the State Government as to why it
has suspended Rampachodavaram Assistant Superintendent of Police Naveen Kumar
from his service.
Participating
as chief guest in the 24th conference of APSRTC Employees Union at RTC Kala
Bhavan in Baghlingampally, Narayana said that the government has to give
explanation to the people over the suspension of ASP, who filed four cases
against Superintendent of Police Trivikram Varma, including attempt to murder,
criminal intimidation, obstructing the duties of public servant and misuse of
official position.
Appealing
to the government to revoke suspension on Naveen Kumar immediately, he demanded
a high-level and independent probe into the entire issue. He asked the
government to take serious action against the guilty officials. If the
government fails to order probe, he said that the people would think the
officials were having nexus with the ganja smugglers.
The CPI
leader also demanded that the oil marketing companies withdraw their move to
increase petrol and diesel prices as it would burden the common man further. He
warned the government of serious agitation if oil marketing companies hike the
petrol prices.
