Hyderabad, Sept 9: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on
Sunday stated that the Union Government would upgrade facilities in Trauma Care
Unit at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences with a cost of Rs 100 crore.
Talking
to media persons here, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the Centre, in principle, has
decided to provide better healthcare facilities for patients in the Burns Wards
at NIMS. Apart from this, he said that the government would make NIMS a premier
institution in the country on the lines of All India Institute of Medical
Sciences.
He said that the government would also allocate Rs 125 crore to set
up Regional Institute at Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts.
Azad
assured the Andhra Pradesh Government that the Centre would allot more funds in
the ensuing Union Budget for the State’s healthcare.
