Vishakhapatnam, August 15 INN: Tribal Welfare Minister P Balraj said that the Congress Government was taking the State on the growth path by implementing different schemes in the State.
Talking to media persons after hoisting the national flag at Police Parade Grounds of Vishakhapatnam district on the eve of 66th Independence Day here, Balraj said that the government would be spending Rs 2, 000 crore for the development of a new transport facility in the city. Proposals for diversion of 10 TMC water from Aleru Dam to Vishakapatnam are also under process, he informed.
Stating that proposal to construct a new irrigation project was in the pineline, he said that government was also planning to take up plantation of 40 lakh siblings to curb pollution menace in the districts. Claiming that the government is concentrating to resolve the problems of the people in the State, he said that top priority would be accorded to develop Vishakhapatnam district further.
Meanwhile, on the occassion, the minister presented awards to 328 employees of different government departments for their meritorious works in their respective fields.
Government Whip D Srinivas, MLA I Vijaya Kumar, District Collector Luv Agarwal, Police Commissioner Poorna Chandra Rao and other officials and leaders were also present.
