Tirupati, August 29: Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy on Wednesday stated that the State Government would construct outer corridor at Tirumala to ensure safety for the region and Lord Venkateswara temple.
Responding to the demand for providing lethal weapons to the forests' security guards to effectively tackle the smugglers, she said that the government was yet to look into it.
Responding to the allegation of Rampachodavaram Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Naveen Kumar that he was intimidated by East Godavari superintendent of police (SP) C M Trivikram Varma of dire consequences, she said that Eluru range DIG G Suryaprakash Rao has begun a probe and based on the report she would initiate disciplinary action against the guilty officials.
Earlier, the Home Minister took the pedestrian path to reach Tirumala.
