Hyderabad, August 28: Primary Education S Sailajanath and MLC Bhanu Prasad on Tuesday condemned the Telugu Desam Party's protest against the State Government over the power crisis.
Addressing a joint press conference, Bhanu Prasad said that by holding protests on the power crisis issue, the TDP was trying to erase the memories of Basheerbagh incident of its rule when farmers were killed in police firing during protest over power crisis. He said that the TDP has no moral right to criticise the government over the power crisis. Describing the protest as 'political stunt', he said that the TDP would never be able to win back the trust of the people with its politically motivated moves.
Sailajanath said that the NTPC has agreed to provide 335 MW of additional power to State and this was result of sustained efforts made by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He refuted the allegations that the Chief Minister was not making serious efforts to resolve the crisis. He said the government was ready to answer all the questions related to power crisis during the next assembly session.
