CM experesses grief over Vials Rao's demise


Hyderabad, Aug 14 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy expressed his shock and grief over the demise of Union Minister Mr.Vilas Rao Deshmukh.

In a special message to Ritesh Deshmukh, son of Mr. Vilas Rao Deshmukh, the Chief Minister said that the death of Vilas Rao Deshmuk was a great loss to the Maharashtra, the Congress party in general and the Union government. He that said in the death of Mr Deshmukh, he lost a "a very good friend".

Kiran Kumar Reddy said that Vilas Rao Deshmukh was a senior Congress leader who came up from the grass-root level and championed the cause of the poor and downtrodden. He said Mr Deshmukh served as Chief Minister of Maharashtra and launched many measures for the overall development of Maharashtra. Mr Deshmukh had vast experience as Union Minister and handled various important portfolios like Heavy industries, public enterprises, Rural Development, Panchayatiraj and at the time of death he was Union Minister for Science and Technology, he said.

The Chief Minister said Vilasrao Dagadojirao Deshmukh popularly known as Vilasrao was a senior veteran politician, senior Congress leader and an able administrator. Vilasrao Deshmukh was A Maratha strongman from Latur. He also recalled the services of Mr Deshmukh as a member of Rajya Sabha.

The Chief Minister conveyed condolences and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family members.
